“Stars at Kourion” Charity Gala Concert

On Saturday 7th June 2014 at 8:30pm, Biomagnetic Cyprus Ltd and Clover Advice Ltd hosted the charity classical music gala concert “Stars at Kourion” at the ancient amphitheater of Kourion. The net proceeds, totaling €5,200 were donated to the Cyprus Anticancer Society for the purchase of home healthcare equipment, and more specifically oxygen machines for cancer patients who receive home healthcare treatment.

The event was under the auspices of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cyprus and was organized by Clover Advice Ltd.

Songs from known operas and musicals were performed by a distinguished team of international performers. The repertoire included pieces from known operas like: “Carmen”, “Rigoletto”, “Norma”, “Don Giovanni”, “La Traviata” and “Magbeth” and known musicals like: “West Side Story” and “Man of La Mancha”.

The historic and beautiful surroundings of Kourion provided an ideal venue.

The performers were: Ms. Margarita Elia from Cyprus, Mr. Shi Bo originally from China and now residing in Germany, Ms. Alma Samimi from Iran and Mr. Vaclav Cikanek from the Czech Republic. The conductor was Mrs. Valentina Shuklina from Ukraine. The orchestra consisted of 13 musicians, all members of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.

The success of the concert was sealed by the standing ovation it received at the end. This success made the organizers commit to making “Stars at Kourion” an annual event.
